Growing up in sports during his youth in small town Lewisburg, Tennessee, Dr. Kellen Gower with Millennium Physician Group took a special interest in sports medicine from an early age. After several broken bones and other injuries as an All-State quarterback and baseball pitcher, he knew through his personal experience that he wanted to help others in similar situations.
About Dr. Gower
Dr. Gower brings world class training to the Brooksville/Tampa Bay area after completing his Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University, then attending the University of Tennessee for medical school and finishing his academic career in a sports medicine fellowship at The James Andrews Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center in Birmingham, Alabama. His reasoning for practicing in Florida for local patients? Dr. Gower states, “… to bring that same level of care to our patients in the area.” And he does just that.
When asked what inspired him to turn his attention to specifically bone and arthritis care for seniors, Dr. Gower explains, “As a primary care physician and also as a non-surgical orthopedic specialist, chronic use disorders (osteoarthritis and chronic tendinopathies) directly affect our patients health in multiple ways.

“While these conditions are not directly life threatening, they can provide significant impairment, discomfort and functional disability to our patients. This has led me to taking a special interest in arthritis care and keeping our older population active and healthy,” he continues.
Dr. Gower isn’t just another doctor that provides arthritic care to seniors—he offers an individualized approach on a per patient basis depending on what the patient is hoping to achieve, with the hope for minimal recovery time with treatments.
“As medicine and technology have advanced over the years, we have found that many conditions we used to think of as a surgical indication, can now be treated very well with conservative targeted therapies and rehab,” he explains. “That’s not to say surgery isn’t still a part of the treatment algorithm, but there are many things we can do to stave off surgery or in many cases avoid surgery.”
With state-of-the-art x-raying and ultrasound machines, Millennium Physician Group offers patients their best chance of an accurate treatment through top-notch vendor products, individualized care programs and ensuring that you are educated about your condition. This trifecta, along with fantastic doctors such as Dr. Gower, allows for patients to stay active and healthy as they live their life to the fullest.

“At the end of the day, our focus is helping our patients take control of their arthritis, so they can stay active and healthy,” Dr. Gower states.
